Monotype printing is a form of printmaking made by painting on a smooth surface which is then transferred onto paper by rolling through a printing press.

Typical techniques are usually created through rolling or painting ink onto the entire surface and then removing ink or using stencil for a subtractive image, layering color or objects or textures. Usually you end up with one print with vibrant color and contrast. Though it's typical to do a second or third, or ghost print if you've used a subtractive technique. 

I was interested in getting to know more about this process because it seemed like a great combination of design, art and printmaking. Plus I was interested in trying something I had never done before. The new process and way of thinking allowed me to expand ideas, within limits, but also experiment and try all sorts of techniques. 

So here are a bunch of prints I made.
