2018 Recap

It was a busy and eventful year and I continue to be so thankful and grateful for the opportunities and experiences that present themselves in my life. I wanted to sum up some of the things I did this year between work, life, experiences, travel, etc.

I got new plants.

I spent a lot of the beginning of the year healing, and finding new ways to bring joy.

Went to a Healing workshop.

Not quite business cards yet, but something! (I haven’t had business cards in about 10 years)

I started a sketchbook dedicated to new explorations.

Full sketchbook can be seen here.

Got some new prints made.

Loved having prints around to use or give away.

I continued to work with Mono and Walmart on Walmart’s monthly mailers. Lots of planning and work that went into these for a a little over a year. A great partnership and process. I still haven’t posted anything about this long and very involved project, but here’s to goals transferring over to the new year!

We got a lot of snow

Took a class in woodblock printing.

Created an editorial illustration for Outside Magazine.

I worked with Google in creating the illustration and animation guidelines for Google Pay. Every time you make a purchase with the app, there’s a seasonal or festive and fun illustrated animation that pops up. I worked with mono and Google to develop the style, rules and all details associated with the development of these tidbit moments. More on this project to come in the future, but for now, here’s a sneak peek.

Created a 5-piece illustrated commission

Went on an unplugged outdoor retreat to the snowy mountains in Washington.

Spent most of my summer not working and remodeling my backyard with my dad. Put in a sliding glass patio door, built a deck, put down pavers, planted some new things and built up some fence sections. And then spent the rest of the summer enjoying the space. I also just realized I never did a post about this process, so I will work on that. Though there is a lot of process on my saved instagram story highlight.

Got some fabric printed from some of my monotype prints.

Jax had a little modeling debut for Coolibar!

I also got in for a couple shots

Created a brand system and logo for a very exciting new venture! Pretty much a dream project for me!

Went to Montreal for the holidays

Discovered an easy great way to make homemade bagels

Worked a ton on rebranding Evereve with mono. Work is still in progress but have gone through a huge amount of logo iterations, art direction and designs.

Spent a lot of hours with mono working on a top secret project for a large company. All things are still in progress but went through countless rounds of art direction, moodboards, design, naming, branding, illustrations, etc. Not sure what will come of it, but was happy to help out with such a fun and exciting new idea.
